World-class aquatic center sa New Clark City napiling pagdausan ng 11th Asian Swimming Championships

Dahil sa world-class at Olympic-standard na aquatic sports center sa New Clark City ay muling naatasan ang Pilipinas na mag-host ng isa na namang international sports competition.

Sa susunod na taon, November 2020, ay gaganapin sa New Clark City ang 11th Asian Swimming Championships.

Ginanap noong Linggo, December 8 ang signing ceremony sa pamamagitan ng mga representatives ng Asian Swimming Federation (ASF), Philippine Swimming Inc. (PSI), at Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) upang paghandaan ang nasabing international swimming competition.

Kasama si BCDA President and CEO Vince Dizon, PSI President Lailani Velasco, ASF Secretary-General Taha Bin Sulaiman Al Kishry, at Commissioner Celia Kiram ng Philippine Sports Commission sa mga lumagda ng kasunduan.

“This is a very important milestone, this event today because it shows that when you have a world-class facility, people from all over the region and all over the world take notice,” ayon kay Dizon.

Ayon kay Velasco, aabot ng 50 mga bansa ang lalahok sa nasabing swimming event. Inihalintulad ni Velasco ang nasabing competition sa standard at quality ng Asian Games.

Ang mga sumusunod na swimming disciplines ang matutunghayan ng mga manonood: swimming, diving, water polo, synchronised swimming, at open water.
